Unlike the tourism multinationals, we see the trip as an opportunity to connect with oneself, through the silence and slow rhythm of the desert; and to establish a relationship with the people who live in these places. We work only with locals and nomads in the area, encouraging tourism as a means of support for many families, and the preservation of these places.
We respect the environment, avoiding leaving trash behind and leaving the tracks with the 4x4.
The zone of the Sahara in which we work (to the south of Zagora) is relatively little visited, unlike other parts of the desert that are overcrowded. We can still enjoy peace and tranquility!
Food is an important aspect when traveling to the desert. Our dishes are simple but exquisite, prepared with great care and with organic products that have not been treated with pesticides.
The father of the Balatif family, Habib, has been recognized chef representative of Morocco by the International Association of Slow Food, Terra Madre, also recommended by the prestigious travel guide Lonely Planet (ed. Italiana 2009)
We integrate the direct experience not only with the nomads that accompany us in the desert; We offer the opportunity to share a meal, learn how to make cous cous, or a rug with a traditional family.
More than being physically fit, we believe that a positive attitude is important for these trips, a slowing down in the face of wanting to control life and letting it flow instead. It takes a spirit of adaptation and willingness to share, which is what makes the people of the desert so extraordinary.
